SHINE
Our Men & Ladies Styling classes are all about refining your technique, posture and appearance, both solo and with partner. You will learn how to move with control, flair and musicality, so that on the dance floor you not only lead or follow well, but also excel in your own style.
We combine solo exercises for body isolations, arm and hand use, spins and footwork with partner work, in which you apply styling directly in combinations. For women, the emphasis is on grace, detail and feminine energy, while men focus on dynamism, power and flow.
Styling not only gives you more technical control, but also the confidence to make your dance personal and compelling.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a partner to join?
No! You can also register alone. You do not need a partner. In our classes, we provide a good mix of leaders and followers, using rotation and extra helpers to ensure the best possible balance.
From which level of Salsa can I participate in this?
We recommend at least up to Level 4 into salsa. That way you will get the most out of the class and styling
Why should I take this class in addition to my regular salsa classes?
Styling takes your dancing to the next level. You develop extra control, balance and charisma, making your partner work even more fluid, expressive and fun, for you and your dance partner.
What will I learn in this lesson?
You will learn styling techniques that you can immediately use in partner dance: arm movements, posture, footwork, accents in the music and expression. This will make your dance more personal, more fluid and more attractive to watch and to dance with.
What should I bring or put on?
Wear clothes in which you can move freely and that give you confidence this is your moment to shine. Styling is all about details, so choose something you feel good in and can move expressively.
Do I need special dance shoes?
Women: possibly heels or dance shoes with smooth soles for smooth turns.
Men: smooth soles and stable shoes, so you can move powerfully and turn in a controlled way.
How early should I be present for class?
Try to arrive 10 to 5 minutes before class starts. This will give you time to change your shoes, warm up and sign in.
What if I am late for class?
If you are a few minutes late, you can still join. But please be respectful to the group and be mindful of disturbing the class, you might not be able to join until the first part of the class is over. This is because we do not have eyes on the door during our classes and for safety reasons we close the door to unwanted guests.
Am I always taught by the same teacher?
Because styling makes the difference between "just dancing" and dancing with impact. You develop control, balance and charisma, making your partner work more vibrant and impressive
