Professional
At Salsa District, you will be taught by national and international champions and top teachers, who have graduated from recognised dance academies. Our trainee teachers are also intensively coached. This guarantees you personal attention, clear explanations and a safe learning environment in which you can grow with pleasure.
Community
Dance, connect and grow together! Every week we organise a Free Practice Hour where students of all levels come together. Here you don't just practise, but build friendships, learn together and feel part of our community faster. On the dance floor, we blur boundaries, share music, energy and fun. This is how we build a family where everyone is welcome!
Dance partner
In our classes we ensure a good mix of leaders and followers, through rotation and extra helpers we provide balance. If you are level 2, you can be added to a whatsapp group for helpers, through which we sometimes ask you to help out at lower levels, so you work on your foundation right away! This way, everyone dances along and no one is left standing still, even if you don't have a dance partner!

Salsa

Anyone can learn to salsa dance - really! In our classes, you will learn to lead or follow with a focus on technique, musicality and connection. No partner needed: we swap during class and provide a nice atmosphere.
Bachata
For everyone
Bachata is a beautiful partner dance originating from the Dominican Republic. It is known for its romantic atmosphere, flowing steps and close connection between dance partners.
Son Cubano
For everyone
Son Cubano is an elegant and rhythmic partner dance that is all about musicality, subtle movements and connection. Perfect for dancers seeking depth with Cuban tradition and flair.
Timba
For everyone
Immerse yourself in the energetic world of Timba. In this class, taught by the fabulous Nadya Toncheva, you will dive into the explosive style that combines technique and musicality with power and flair. Timba is expressive, playful and challenges you to really be yourself on the dance floor.
Cuban Rumba

Discover the power, playfulness and expression of Cuban rumba. In these classes, you'll work on rhythm, body movement and connection with the music. Perfect for enriching your salsa and giving your dance more authenticity.
Men & Ladies Styling

Do you want to refine your technique, move with flair and dance confidently, even without a partner? Our Men & Ladystyling classes are all about body control, musicality, posture and appearance. The team at Salsa District helped us rediscover salsa - my boyfriend and I were previously in another school and after a couple of courses we left thinking maybe we weren't cut out for it; but after meeting some Salsa District students at a social event (and really liking their enthusiasm, vibe and friendliness), we decided to give it another go. We are so happy we did because there's no looking back now - the teachers are so skilled, not just in salsa dancing/technique but also in TEACHING - not to be under-estimated. Their methods and explanations really work for us and they are able to break complex things down into more digestible pieces of information in a way that has us progressing very quickly. They're also really down to earth and fun. We've just signed up for our third course and we're not sure if we're ever going to stop...? Big shout out especially to Nadya and Wesley for getting us back into the game!
Very nice salsa school, focusing on technique as well as fun. Good teachers. Wesley is also very attentive to the development of individual students and actively thinks along, for example, about which level is appropriate. Very satisfied!
A very friendly and warm atmosphere, the teachers are great both in dancing and in teaching. You can ask anything that comes to your mind and they keep repeating it until you learn. I knew nothing about dancing, was a complete beginner, have now registered for Level 4 and I look forward to every lesson. After each class, I go home with a smile on my face. Such a great place to learn salsa! I just finished the level 1 salsa course and started taking Level 2 salsa and Level 1 bachata. After taking some try out classes at other places, I decided on Salsa District because they made me feel comfortable practicing salsa as a complete beginner!!! Wesley and Nadya are great teachers who are so much fun and give great teachings (how to do steps etc). They are also very patient! It's been such a great way to get some exercise, have fun, and release work stress! Now I like it so much that I take two classes per week! They also invite students to join salsa nights and events at various bars and locations in Amsterdam! Highly recommended!
The best Salsa School in Amsterdam!!! The vibe is wonderful and makes you wanna dance more and more. Great group orchestrated by Wesley that is really skilled and patient in guiding you through from your first steps of salsa to more advanced ones. The location is an historical school that offers several rooms suitable for big groups. I can only recommend to join Salsa District!!!
Dancing and having classes now for over two years, and never learned this much along with the level of fun as I'm having at Salsa District! The teachers are technically very good and bring you to that next level. The groups are good in size which makes that there is plenty of individual attention to improve even more. Totally recommend to everybody that wants to start or take their salsa to the next level
